The AcumenEd Story
The Problem We Saw
AcumenEd was born from frustration. Our founders spent years in Michigan charter schools, watching students slip through the cracks despite the best intentions of dedicated educators. The problem wasn't effort—it was visibility.
Data Scattered Everywhere
Schools had data scattered across multiple systems. By the time someone noticed a student was chronically absent or failing multiple courses, it was often too late to intervene effectively.
The Accountability Challenge
At the same time, charter schools faced intense pressure from authorizers to prove their value-add. But most schools lacked the statistical tools to demonstrate their impact with the rigor that evaluators expected.
Building the Solution
We built AcumenEd to solve both problems. Our ABC Early Warning System catches at-risk students before they fail. Our cohort analysis gives schools defensible evidence of their impact. And our SCGP calculations match NWEA's official numbers within ±1 percentile.
Today, over 150 Michigan charter schools trust AcumenEd to help them support student success and demonstrate accountability. We're just getting started.
